The Best Start For Life

Infant receiving an adjustment
A child’s nervous system has an effect on everything!

We want our children to have the best start to life. That’s why it’s important for a child’s nervous system to be assessed as early as possible. Birth can be traumatic to a mother and child and an astounding 80% of infants are born with the top bone, C1, being subluxated.

A simple and gentle Chiropractic adjustment performed on a newborn can help that baby express his or her full potential. Adjustments can also help improve a child’s immune system since it’s a direct reflection of how their nervous system is working. We want to help pave the way for your child to lead a happier and healthier life.

Chiropractic may help with the following common childhood conditions:

  • Colic
  • Bowel movement issues
  • Ear infections
  • Latching difficulties
  • Skin irritations
  • Sleep issues
  • Teething
  • Reflux

Why does a child need to be adjusted?

toddler-office-visitThis question is one that many patients ask when they see a young child or infant being adjusted in the clinic. Adjustments help alleviate spinal subluxations (misalignments of the vertebrae) caused by intrauterine constraint, abnormal positioning in the uterus, and spinal distress from the journey through the birth canal or during the delivery process itself.

Ideally, babies should be checked and adjusted as soon as possible after birth. The manner in which we adjust newborns is also very different than that of an adult. For one a newborn typically needs less areas adjusted and the technique requires only a fingertip to adjust — using the same amount of firmness to check a fruit for ripeness.
